Dagmar Dyck

Dagmar Dyck (born 1972) is a 

New Zealand 

artist and art educator of 


 German, Dutch and Polish descent.  Dyck's art practice (painter/printmaker/weaver) seeks to convey a considered approach in weaving historical threads together to create immersive and interactive experiences that move beyond simply the recreation of the aesthetic structure of patterns sourced within material textiles.  Dyck graduated from  Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland, with a  Post-Graduate Diploma of Fine Arts in 1995. She was the first women of Tongan descent to do so. In 2014 Dyck received the Contemporary Artist Award at the 

Creative New Zealand 

Arts Pasifika Awards.
