Jessica Pearless (b. 1980) is a Devonport based painter and site responsive installation artist working with Abstraction. Jessica holds a Master of Fine Arts (Hons) degree from Elam School of Fine Arts, The University of Auckland (2011)(University Graduate Scholar).
Jessica has exhibited extensively in public, private and commercial art spaces throughout New Zealand and internationally who has received numerous accolades for her work including:
Inaugural Artists Alliance Artist in Residence (2011);
a prestigious AMP National Scholarship (2011);
Merit Award in The New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Award (2013 & 2014);
Creative New Zealand Quick Response Grant (2013).
In 2014 she was a Finalist in the prestigious Westpac 'Women of Influence Awards' in the Arts Category.
Recent projects include National Contemporary Art Awards Finalist, Waikato Museum (2017);
Wallace Trust Art Awards Travelling Finalist (2017);
NZ Sculpture on Shore (2016);
New Zealand Painting and Printmaking Award Finalist (2017).
In 2018 Jessica has exhibited at ‘Splore’ Festival, Orere Point; ’The Big Hoot’, Auckland; ‘Abstraction TwentyEighteen’, Melbourne with numerous other artistic projects in progress. Alongside her creative practice, Jessica is an Artist Ambassador for Boosted, The Arts Foundation of New Zealand’s creative industries crowdfunding platform and an Independent Arts Consultant who leads projects at arts organisations throughout New Zealand.
