As a painter, I have found that often it’s the very small things that help us interpret both our own anchors and those elements within ourselves that are constantly, endlessly in flux. It is change that challenges my perceptions. I like to integrate patterns from nature with fragments of memories that evoke their own history. The tiniest of details invite you to recall your own spaces and those elements within yourself.
Many of my pieces draw inspiration from the natural sea and land formations of Northland, where I grew up. I am grateful for the coastal playground I had, hours spent exploring rock pools and always discovering something new. The natural environment is a place of solace, as much a mirror as it is a distraction.
I use colour and scale to illustrate my own emotions and connect people to theirs. I use my training in interior design and fine art to curate and consider a space for commissioned art and murals. I would love to hear from you if you would like to book a consultation or purchase my work.
