Michele Bryant studied textile design, going on to complete
a degree in Art History. She has been an exhibiting artist for
more than 20 years, with works in private and public
collections nationally and internationally.
Michele’s artwork explores ideas on belonging, surrounding
decision making, and how a sense of belonging for a
location is tested or strengthened. Concern for the
environment, and the current international political climate
are referenced, alongside textiles and comic art from
childhood. These are signifiers of a rural upbringing and the
idea of nostalgia from that early life, along with planes,
suitcases and symbols of travel or relocation. Text and
numbers feature as personal reminders of times, particular
ages and locations.
